Virginia QSO Party 2025

Every year FARA goes all in participating in the Virginia QSO Party (VAQP). What is cool is the way the members change up how they participate in the event and the variety of ways they do from year to year. But no matter how each of us operate we are all working together as a club and have fun participating.

Here is Jordan, KK4UZK, operating portable, with a small (tr)µSDX QRP rig, in the field.

Then we have Justin, NB3A, put together a Multi-Multi station from the ground up to operate the W4VA club station which was on the air the entire contest.

There were many mobile operations this year, including John, KX4O’s mobile operation, who had his XYL performing the logging duties making it a family affair.

FARA always has great member participation in the event and we hope again to get top club award. The VAQP is an event that brings a sense camaraderie with our fellow members brought together by our radios.

This event is made possible by the fine folks that the Sterling Park Amateur Radio Club who sponsor this fun event every year. Many thanks!
