October 22, 2016 FARA members again responded to an invitation from the organizers (the Fauquier Trail Coalition) to assist with communications for their popular Great Pumpkin Ride.

Using the FARA 2m repeater, the volunteers manned the rest stop stations east and south of Warrenton adding one more layer of communications to their cell phones.

The broadcast approach of disseminating info quickly to all rest stops at once adds value the organizers appreciate.

The combination of FARA radio volunteers and the Great Pumpkin Ride add a measure of safety for the bike participants. FARA very much enjoys being part of this event and look forward to supporting it in the future.
